Shimla (The Uttam Hindu): In a major step toward educational reform, the Himachal Pradesh government has decided to introduce separate uniforms for students studying in CBSE-affiliated schools across the state. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that the move aims to bring a distinct identity to these institutions while enhancing the overall learning environment.

During a review meeting with the Education Department, the Chief Minister also announced that smart classrooms will be set up in all CBSE schools to provide students with modern digital learning tools. Additionally, mess facilities will be introduced to ensure that nutritious and hygienic meals are available to students within the school premises.

Taking a step further, CM Sukhu directed officials to develop day-boarding school facilities, where students can stay for extended hours to study, participate in extracurricular activities, and receive mentorship beyond regular class timings. He emphasized that the initiative will help reduce the academic burden on parents while creating a more holistic learning atmosphere for children.

The Chief Minister said these reforms reflect the state’s commitment to making government schools on par with private institutions, ensuring that every student irrespective of their background gets equal access to quality education.
