Tragedy in Nuh: House Collapse Kills Two Children, Several Injured
Nuh, Haryana (The Uttam Hindu): A tragic incident occurred in Reeth village of Nuh district late on Sunday night when the rear wall of a house collapsed, bringing down the roof and burying an entire family in debris. The accident claimed the lives of two children and left three other members of the family seriously injured.
The victims have been identified as 40-year-old Salim, his wife Farhana (38), and their three children – Umar Mohammad, Salman (5), and Naira. At the time of the incident, all five were asleep in their concrete house. Around 1:00 AM, the back wall suddenly gave way, causing the roof to collapse onto the sleeping family.
Local villagers rushed to the scene and, after considerable effort, managed to pull the victims from the rubble. Tragically, Umar Mohammad and his sister Naira were declared dead on the spot. Salim, Farhana, and young Salman sustained serious injuries. The injured were taken to Nalhad Medical College for treatment. Due to the critical condition of 5-year-old Salman, doctors referred him to Delhi Trauma Center, while Salim and Farhana continue to receive treatment at the medical college.
According to residents, the house was constructed by Salim 10–15 years ago on land that had been filled and raised. Fields are located behind the house. Continuous rainfall in recent days is believed to have weakened the rear wall, leading to its collapse and the fatal accident. The incident has cast a pall of grief over Reeth village, with locals mourning the loss of the young siblings.
