AAP fires back at Raghav Chadha: 'If you get scared, consider yourself dead'
They accused Chadha of being silent on key issues and prioritising personal interests over party goals
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha spoke openly for the first time after being removed from the post of Deputy Leader of the House and leveled serious allegations against his party. Following this, several Aam Aadmi Party leaders have come to the party's defense. Saurabh Bhardwaj, head of the AAP's Delhi unit, hit back, accusing Chadha of raising issues outside the party line and remaining silent on important issues.
Saurabh Bhardwaj shared a video on the social media platform X. He said, "Raghav Bhai, I just saw your video. We are all soldiers of Arvind Kejriwal. We only learned one thing: 'If you get scared, consider yourself dead.' We all had to look the government in the eye and raise people's issues."
Taking aim at the central government, he said, "In the last few days, we've seen that anyone who raises questions against the government on important issues is being banned on social media like a dictator. FIRs are being filed."
He further said, "The government doesn't care if someone does soft PR in Parliament. A small party has a limited speaking time in Parliament. If someone is raising the issue of samosas, it's more important to raise a bigger issue. We've seen across the country that before elections, genuine people's votes are cancelled, and the government is winning elections by creating fake voters and manipulating the system."
Responding to Raghav Chadha, Saurabh Bhardwaj said, "The same thing is happening in West Bengal right now. All the opposition parties tried to introduce a resolution against the CEC, which you refused to sign. Whenever there is an issue on which the opposition walks out, you do not walk out. For a long time, I have noticed that you have not raised any issue in the House that has questioned the government. How can politics be done with such fear?"
He alleged, "We need to raise Punjab's issues, but you are afraid to raise them. Recently, FIRs were filed against 160 activists in Gujarat, and they were arrested on false charges. You remained silent on this as well. As Chief Minister, the government had Arvind Kejriwal arrested on false charges. You went into hiding outside the country at that time."
Referring to Raghav Chadha, Aam Aadmi Party leader Saurabh Bhardwaj said, "I believe that the real issues for the country must be raised with fearlessness and courage. You should think about where you started and where you have reached."
Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party leader Anurag Dhanda wrote in an X post, "We are Kejriwal's soldiers. Fearlessness is our primary identity. If someone is afraid of the government, how will they fight for the country? The party gets a little speaking time in Parliament, and in that time, they can either fight to save the country or make samosas cheaper at airport canteens. In Gujarat, hundreds of our workers were arrested by BJP police. Did the MP say anything in the House?"
He further wrote, "The right to vote is being taken away in West Bengal. When a motion against the CEC came up in the House, Bhai Saheb refused to sign it. When the party walked out of the House, he remained sitting to mark the government's attendance. For the past few years, you have become afraid, Raghav. You are afraid to speak out against the government. You are afraid to speak out on the country's real issues."
Earlier, Raghav Chadha alleged that attempts were being made to suppress his voice. He said, "The Aam Aadmi Party has asked the Rajya Sabha to ban Raghav Chadha from speaking. But he will continue his fight for the issues of the common man." In his video message, he said, "I have been silenced, but I have not lost."
