Mokama (Uttam Hindu News) – A major accident was averted during the election campaign of JDU candidate and strongman leader Anant Singh in Mokama, Bihar. During his "Toofan Sampark Abhiyan" (Storm Contact Campaign) in Rampur-Dumra village, the stage suddenly collapsed while he was delivering a speech, causing Anant Singh and several others to fall. However, the relief is that he did not suffer any serious injuries and is completely safe.

After the stage collapsed, chaos ensued for a while. Supporters panicked, but Anant Singh remained undeterred. He composed himself, calmed them with a smile, and immediately resumed his speech. A video of this incident is now rapidly going viral on social media.

Anant Singh, affectionately known as "Chhote Sarkar" by his supporters, is the Janata Dal (United) candidate from the Mokama assembly seat. The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has fielded Veena Devi, Suraj Bhan Singh's wife. Political circles are calling it a "Chhote Sarkar vs. Suraj Bhan" contest, even though Veena Devi is filing her nomination as the candidate.

Caste equations and background

Bhumihar voters play a decisive role in the Mokama seat. Interestingly, both Anant Singh and Suraj Bhan Singh belong to this caste. Suraj Bhan Singh is barred from contesting elections due to criminal cases, while his wife Veena Devi claims that her husband is now a "changed man." She said, "Just as I reformed my husband, I will also change the face of Mokama."
