‘Lawlessness in Bihar?’ Posters Highlighting 8 Brutal Murders Spark Outrage in Patna
Patna(The Uttam Hindu): Bihar’s law-and-order situation has once again come under sharp political scrutiny after provocative posters declaring “Gundaraj in Bihar” appeared overnight at key intersections across the state capital.
The posters were spotted at prominent locations like JP Golambar, Income Tax roundabout, Veerchand Patel Road, and Boring Road. They feature images of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary alongside a bold caption: “Bihar in Gundaraj, businessmen under attack.”
Surrounding the main text are disturbing details of eight recent murders, including photographs and dates of the victims. The list includes the killing of industrialist Gopal Khemka, businessman Deepak Shah, mart owner Vikram Jha, teacher Santosh Rai, sand trader Ramakant Yadav, trader Puttu Khan, and lawyer Jitendra Mehta, who was shot dead on July 13.
No group or political outfit has claimed responsibility for putting up the posters, but they have triggered a major controversy, adding fuel to the opposition’s criticism of Bihar’s deteriorating law and order.
Congress Bihar in-charge Krishna Allavaru slammed the government, saying, “Bihar has become the crime capital of the country. Ever since CM Nitish Kumar’s health declined, the BJP has been running the state, and lawlessness is at its peak.”
This comes a day after Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi raised similar concerns about Bihar’s crime situation in Parliament. The police have yet to comment on whether they will investigate who is behind the posters, but the visuals have already gone viral on social media, sparking public anger and political blame games.
