Tragedy in the Hills: Bus Plunges 200 Meters into Gorge 10 Dead, 37 Injured

Lima (The Uttam Hindu): At least 10 people were killed and 37 others injured when a bus fell into a 200-meter deep ravine in the Sandia province of the Puno region in southern Peru, local police said on Monday. The bus was travelling from the city of Juliaca to the San Pedro de Putina Punco district when the accident occurred. According to police, the bus fell into the Inambarri river on Sunday night.

The local police rescued 37 passengers trapped in the vehicle and admitted them to a nearby hospital for treatment. The cause of the accident is being investigated.
