New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu) - Delhi's Patiala House Court has sent Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati, accused of sexual harassment, to 5 days of police custody. The police told the court that Chaitanyananda has sexually exploited 16 girls. Delhi Police has mentioned Section 351(3) in the FIR, which is a non-bailable offence. Section 351(3) is imposed against those who threaten someone, especially with the intention of threatening to kill. Earlier, Section 351(2) was imposed in this case, which is considered slightly less serious.

The police had sought five days of police custody from the court to confront Baba Chaitanyananda with the girls who had been victims and to examine the digital evidence he had concealed. The police say that Baba has concealed several digital evidences in addition to evidence of molestation of the girls. However, Chaitanyananda's lawyer opposed the police's demand. He told the court that the police are not treating Baba properly. Baba is a senior citizen and a saint whose health is not good. The police have confiscated all the essential items from Baba, so why do they need remand?

"Come to my room at night,"

a girl who studied at Baba's ashram said, "Baba tried to molest me too. He kidnapped me in the ashram. To save my honor, I had to leave the ashram after leaving my last semester." The victim said, "Baba used to call me at night, but I refused to go. I didn't fall into his trap. That's why he didn't allow me to sit for the exam. I understood that anything could happen to me here. During this time, I learned that Baba had been harassing and molesting many girls. Baba had crossed all limits. Baba would send me obscene emails. In the emails, he would say, 'You look very beautiful today. You're wearing a very nice dress. Do you have a boyfriend or not?'"

Delhi Police told the court that given the gravity of the case, it was crucial to record statements from the victim girls. The girls were taken to Almora, Gurgaon, and Faridabad. Police also stated that cameras were installed even in bathrooms. A total of 16 girls have filed complaints in this case, making it a major and serious issue.
