New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on Wednesday informed that the agency is searching for Indian citizen Kalpeshkumar Rasikbhai Patel, who is accused of defrauding several people. According to the FBI, Patel (also known as Kenny Patel) is accused of conspiring to defraud several individuals between 2017 and 2021 and obtaining large sums of money from them.

The agency posted on the social media platform X and said that Patel, approximately 35 years old, is believed to be living between Illinois and Pennsylvania. The investigation revealed that Patel worked as a fuel station attendant. During this time, he deceived people into sending money via cash and prepaid debit cards to various addresses in the United States.

A federal arrest warrant was issued for Patel in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky (London, Kentucky) on June 22, 2023. He is charged with conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud.

The FBI has urged the public to contact their nearest FBI office, US embassy, or consulate if they have any information related to Patel. The agency also stated that people were duped by phone calls that assured them their personal information would not be misused.
