Hindus should have four children, I will also contribute after marriage, says Dhirendra Shastri
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): After Mohan Bhagwat, chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), appealed to Hindus to have three children, Dhirendra Krishna Shastri has now expressed concern over the Hindu population and advised that Hindus should have four children. Shastri is currently in Pushkar, Rajasthan, for a three-day religious discourse titled Hanuman Katha, where he shared his views on various social and religious issues.
Speaking on the issue of Hindu population, he described it as a global matter and a serious concern in the Indian context. According to him, a declining Hindu population could become a challenge for the country’s future. He stated that Hindus should have at least four children.
Referring to his unmarried status in a light manner, Shastri said that people often question his contribution, but after marriage he would also contribute in this direction.
On the subject of “ghar wapsi,” he claimed that the ancestors of Indian Muslims were Hindus. Citing a film as an example, he said that if people understand their roots, returning to their original faith would be possible.
He also addressed Hindu devotees who visit the Ajmer Sharif Dargah, urging individuals to maintain faith in their own religion. Mentioning the Gita, he stated that following one’s own faith is the appropriate path and that everyone should practice devotion according to their beliefs. His remarks may draw reactions in political and social circles.
