Indian Navy’s Heroic Operation Saves 14 Sailors, Stunning Rescue Pictures Released
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Indian Navy's warship INS Tabar, deployed on a mission in the Gulf of Oman, showed bravery and rescued the crew of a ship in distress. The Indian Navy received a distress call from a ship named MT Yi Cheng 6, after which the warship took immediate action and started extinguishing the fire.
According to the information, the Pulau-flagged MT Yi Cheng 6 was going from Kandla in Gujarat to Shinas in Oman. On Sunday, the ship reported a fire in the engine room and a power outage. The lives of the 14 Indian crew members on board the ship were in danger.
Indian Navy spokesperson tweeted and informed about this incident. He said that the stealth frigate INS Tabar deployed in the Gulf of Oman responded to the distress call from MT Yi Cheng 6 on June 29. There were 14 crew members of Indian origin on the ship. After the fire, there was a complete power outage on the ship.
Fire fighting teams and necessary equipment from INS Tabar were immediately airlifted to MT Yi Cheng 6 using ship's boat and helicopter. Currently, 13 sailors from INS Tabar and 5 crew members from MT Yi Cheng 6 are engaged in firefighting operations, which has significantly reduced the intensity of the fire on board.
