New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): An Indigo flight from Visakhapatnam to Delhi had to make an emergency landing due to a technical fault. Timely alertness averted a major tragedy, saving the lives of all passengers.

According to reports, IndiGo flight 6E-579 departed from Visakhapatnam for Delhi. During the flight, one of the plane's engines suddenly malfunctioned. As soon as the pilot noticed the technical problem, air traffic control was immediately notified.

Following this, an alert was issued at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport, declaring an emergency on Runway 28. The plane landed safely amid thorough preparations. It is reported that there were approximately 160 passengers on board, all of whom are safe, although the incident did create a moment of panic among the passengers.

According to sources, the emergency was declared at around 10:39 a.m., and the plane landed safely at around 10:59 a.m. The airline stated that the decision was taken as a precautionary measure after receiving information about a technical problem.

An IndiGo spokesperson said the aircraft landed safely following all necessary safety protocols. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the technical fault.
