Major plane crash averted in Jaipur after aircraft touches runway and takes off again
Jaipur (The Uttam Hindu): Amid the uproar over plane accidents in the country, a major mishap was averted at Jaipur International Airport on Wednesday afternoon. The landing of Air India flight AI-1719, which had arrived in Jaipur from Delhi, failed at the last moment, causing panic among the passengers. At around 1:05 pm, the plane was about to land on the runway and its wheels were about to touch the ground when the pilot suddenly changed his mind at the last moment and lifted the plane back into the air. The sudden rise of the plane left the passengers breathless.
The pilot decided to go around just before touching the runway.
According to aviation sources, the plane was unstable during landing, which is technically called an "unstable approach." Keeping passenger safety as a top priority, the pilot acted wisely and decided to perform a "go-around" as per standard operating procedures (SOPs). The plane then circled the airport for a long time. After remaining in the air for about 10 minutes and the situation returning to normal, the pilot made a safe landing on the second attempt. Passengers breathed a sigh of relief as the plane landed. The airport administration says this is a normal safety procedure and if the pilot feels any risk in landing, they take such a decision.
Congress in-charge Randhawa was on the flight, panicked by the morning incident
Along with other passengers, Congress state in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa was also on board the plane. Although the plane landed safely, the atmosphere remained tense for some time. A major cause of panic among the passengers was the plane crash that occurred in Maharashtra this morning. It is worth noting that on Wednesday morning, the chartered plane of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar crashed while landing in Baramati.
The country is shocked by the Baramati accident
Five people, including Ajit Pawar, lost their lives in the Baramati plane crash that occurred at 8:45 am today. According to the Maharashtra Aviation Department, the pilot attempted to land there as well, but when the runway was not clear, he attempted to take the plane higher, which failed, and the plane crashed. Seeing a similar situation in Jaipur, it was natural for passengers to be frightened. However, the pilot's presence of mind averted a major tragedy in Jaipur.
