Massive fire erupts at MPs’ Brahmaputra Apartments, just 200 metres from Parliament

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A major accident occurred today in the Lutyens' Zone of the national capital, Delhi. A massive fire broke out at the high-profile Brahmaputra Apartments on Dr. Bishambar Das Marg. This building is significant because it houses the residences of several Rajya Sabha MPs. As soon as the news of the fire spread, panic gripped the area.


The fire department responded immediately after receiving information about the fire, dispatching six fire tenders to the scene. According to reports, the fire broke out on one of the building's upper floors, causing panic among residents. Firefighters are currently working to control the blaze.


According to reports, this apartment is located just 200 meters from the Parliament House. According to an India Today report, Brahmaputra Apartments is a residential complex for Rajya Sabha MPs, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2020.


The cause of the fire is currently unknown. Police and fire departments are on the scene and assessing the situation.
