New Delhi (Uttam Hindu News): The monsoon session of Parliament is going to start from July 21 (Monday). Before this, the Modi government has called an all-party meeting on July 20 (Sunday) at 11 am. The purpose of this meeting is to seek cooperation from the opposition parties for the smooth functioning of the Parliament.

The monsoon session will begin from July 21 and continue till August 21, in which both the houses will have a total of 21 meetings. This is the 5th session of the 18th Lok Sabha. The opposition 'India' alliance is preparing to corner the government on the Pahalgam attack and US President Donald Trump's ceasefire claims. In such a situation, this session is expected to be quite tumultuous.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on July 19 said that the government is ready to discuss all important issues to be raised in Parliament. He said that several important bills will be introduced for discussion and passage in this session. These include the Public Trust (Amendment) Provisions Bill 2025, the National Sports Governance Bill 2025, and the Merchant Shipping Bill 2024.

These bills are considered to be important steps towards further strengthening the development and administration of the country. In the all-party meeting, the government will hold discussions with the leaders of all political parties so that the functioning of Parliament can go on without any hindrance during the session.

The opposition has indicated that it will question the government on the terrorist attack in Pahalgam and Trump's ceasefire related statements. These issues can heat up the session at the very beginning. Apart from this, the opposition is also preparing to raise issues of economic condition, unemployment and other public interest.

Many important discussions and policy decisions are expected to take place in Parliament during the monsoon session.

Let us tell you that before the monsoon session of Parliament, the opposition parties had called a virtual meeting of the Indy Alliance on Saturday. The purpose of this meeting was to prepare a joint strategy against the government in Parliament. Earlier this meeting was proposed at the residence of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, but now it has been changed to a virtual format, so that the widespread participation of opposition leaders from across the country can be ensured.

The meeting began at 7 pm and was attended by senior leaders of major opposition parties, including the Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray faction), Samajwadi Party (SP), Nationalist Congress Party (SP), and Left parties.
