New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Prime Minister Narendra Modi has crossed the milestone of 100 million followers on Instagram, becoming the first world leader to reach this mark. Since joining the platform in 2014, his account has grown steadily and become one of the most active and widely followed among global leaders. His digital outreach has helped him connect with audiences in India and across the world, giving him a clear lead over other leaders. His Instagram following is more than double that of Donald Trump, who has about 43.2 million followers, followed by Prabowo Subianto, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Javier Milei.

Apart from Instagram, Prime Minister Modi also has a strong presence on other social media platforms, with more than 106 million followers on X and around 54 million on Facebook, highlighting his wide global reach. Within India, he remains far ahead of other political leaders on Instagram. Yogi Adityanath is second with about 16.1 million followers, followed by Rahul Gandhi with around 12.6 million followers.

Prime Minister Modi has also maintained one of the highest approval ratings among world leaders. As of late 2025, his approval rating stood at about 70 percent in global comparisons. Surveys conducted in early February also placed him at the top with an approval rating of around 67 percent, while Donald Trump ranked lower with an approval rating of about 40 percent. These figures underline his continued popularity both domestically and internationally.
