Odisha Landslide Tragedy: 3 Killed Near Manganese Mine, Bodies Recovered After 6 Hours
Odisha (The Uttam Hindu) : At least three people lost their lives in a landslide that occurred late Tuesday evening in Keonjhar district, Odisha. The incident took place near Dalpahada in the Bichkundi area, under the jurisdiction of Joda police station. The victims have been identified as Sandeep Murthy, Guru Champiya, and Kande Munda, all residents of the Bichkundi area. Reports indicate that manganese mining was underway in the Baitarani reserve forest when the landslide struck. All three individuals died on the spot. Rescue teams conducted a six-hour operation to recover the bodies.
Following the incident, police and forest department officials arrived at the scene to begin an investigation.
