PM Kisan Samman Nidhi will 22nd installment reach 9 crore farmers before Holi here is the update
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Over nine crore farmers across the country are once again waiting for support from the central government. The last installment under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi was credited to farmers’ bank accounts on 19 November 2025. Since then, beneficiaries have been expecting the next payment. As of 28 February, the final day of the month, the 22nd installment has still not been transferred.
Installment unlikely today due to bank holiday
Many farmers were hopeful that the amount might be credited on the last day of February. However, since today is the fourth Saturday, banks across the country are closed. Payments under the scheme are transferred directly to farmers’ accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). With banking operations shut today, there is almost no possibility of funds being credited.
Consecutive holidays reduce chances before Holi
After today’s delay, the major concern is whether farmers will receive the installment before Holi on 4 March. Looking at the upcoming calendar, the chances appear very low.
1 March – Sunday (Bank holiday)
2 March – Banks closed in Uttar Pradesh
3 March – Banking services shut in several states
4 March – Holi public holiday
Due to these consecutive holidays, it seems unlikely that farmers will receive the financial support before the festival.
Awaiting official announcement
Apart from holidays, the biggest reason for the delay is that the central government has not yet announced an official date for releasing the 22nd installment. Without a formal notification and with banks remaining closed on multiple days, the chances of receiving the payment before Holi appear minimal.
