New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation today at 5 pm. It is believed that PM Modi may provide information on GST reforms. He may also discuss Navratri which begins tomorrow, September 22nd. However, no official statement has been issued regarding his address.
It should be noted that the government has reduced GST rates on several products under GST 2.0. All these rates are coming into effect tomorrow (September 22). Now, only two GST slabs have been retained: 5% and 18%, while the 12% and 28% tax slabs have been abolished. Most products included in the 12% slab have been placed in the 5% slab category, while most products under the 28% slab have been placed in the 18% slab.
Additionally, he may appeal for the promotion of indigenous products for the upcoming festival season, a point he has made during his visits to Manipur, Bihar, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.
