PM Modi hands over 51,000 appointment letters, says 'empowerment of youth is the government's priority'
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday handed over 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited youth at the 17th annual employment fair. He said that youth empowerment is a priority for the BJP and the NDA government.
Addressing the event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "Receiving an appointment letter for a permanent job amidst the festivities means the joy of celebration and the double happiness of success. This happiness has been bestowed upon more than 51,000 young people across the country today. I can feel the joy in everyone's family. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to everyone and their families."
"You have not just received a government appointment; you have been given the opportunity to actively contribute to the service of the nation," Prime Minister Modi told the newly appointed youth. "I am confident that you will work in this spirit. With honesty and integrity, you will play your part in building better systems for the future of India."
Addressing the event, he said that "Nagrik Devo Bhava" is the mantra for the BJP government at the center. PM Modi said, "We must never forget how we can be useful in the lives of every citizen through a spirit of service and dedication. For the past 11 years, the country has been moving forward with the resolve to build a developed India, and our youth have played a major role in this."
He also said that today India is the youngest nation in the world. We consider the power of our youth to be our greatest asset. With this faith and confidence, we are moving forward in every field. Even our foreign policy is being formulated with the interests of India's youth in mind. Our diplomatic relations and global agreements are increasingly focused on youth training and job creation.
Prime Minister Modi said, "More than 1.1 million appointment letters have been issued through job fairs alone in the recent past, and this effort is not limited to government jobs. We have also launched the PM Vikasit Bharat Rojgar Yojana across the country. Under this scheme, the target is to provide employment to 35 million youth. This year, the GST Savings Festival has also added a new dimension to this festive season."
PM Modi pointed out that India has entered into investment partnerships with several European countries, creating thousands of new jobs. He added, “We have also signed several agreements with countries like Brazil, Singapore, South Korea, and Canada to promote investment and support startups and MSMEs. These collaborations will strengthen exports and open new avenues of growth and opportunity for India's youth.”
