Sahibzadas' unyielding valor: PM Modi honors brave hearts against Mughal might
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday paid tribute to the sons of Guru Gobind Singh on the occasion of Veer Bal Diwas, calling it a day of reverence dedicated to remembering the supreme sacrifice.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote on the social media platform 'X', "Veer Bal Diwas is a day of reverence, dedicated to remembering the sacrifice of the brave Sahibzadas. We remember the unwavering faith of Mata Gujri Ji and the immortal teachings of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji." He further said that this day symbolizes courage, strong faith and piety. This day is associated with courage, strong faith and piety. Their lives and ideals will continue to inspire people for generations."
Union Minister Piyush Goyal wrote, "On the occasion of Veer Bal Diwas, I pay my heartfelt tribute to the immortal sacrifice of the brave Sahibzadas who remained steadfast on the path of Dharma. The example of Dharma, truth, and courage they set even at a young age will remain an inspiration for generations to come." Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta wrote on the social media platform X, "On Veer Bal Diwas, I pay my heartfelt tribute to the immortal martyrdom of the four brave Sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh Maharaj, who dedicated their lives to protect the country, Dharma, and Sanatan culture. Veer Bal Diwas is not just a remembrance of history; it is a national resolve to inculcate values, courage, and national consciousness in the young generation. With the visionary initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Veer Bal Diwas was initiated with the belief that the unparalleled sacrifice of the brave Sahibzadas would shape the nation's consciousness, character, and future."
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma wrote on the social media platform 'X', "On the day of martyrdom of the Sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj, I pay my heartfelt tribute to them, who sacrificed everything to protect the Dharma! Their indomitable courage, sacrifice, and patriotism give us the strength to stand against injustice. The courage and sacrifice of the Sahibzadas are an inspiration for the younger generation." Veer Bal Diwas is celebrated every year on December 26 to honor the martyrdom of Guru Gobind Singh's younger sons, Sahibzada Baba Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Baba Fateh Singh. The Prime Minister had announced the celebration of Veer Bal Diwas on January 9, 2022, on the occasion of Guru Gobind Singh's Prakash Parv. Sahibzada Baba Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Baba Fateh Singh, the youngest sons of the tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh, were born in Anandpur Sahib. On the morning of 7 December 1705, the day of the historic Battle of Chamkaur, the two Sahibzadas, along with their grandmother Mata Gujri, were taken into custody at Morinda by Mughal officers Jani Khan and Mani Khan Ranghar.
