PM Modi to attend the martyrdom anniversary of the Ninth Sikh Guru in Kurukshetra

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Haryana on Tuesday to participate in several major cultural and spiritual events. The purpose of his visit is to honour the legacy of Guru Tegh Bahadur and promote the state’s rich heritage.

To spread the teachings, sacrifice, and legacy of Guru Tegh Bahadur, the Haryana government and the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee are observing his 350th martyrdom anniversary at Jyotisar. PM Modi will join this ceremony.

After the event, the Prime Minister will visit the Mahabharata Experience Centre, which will soon be open to tourists from India and abroad. At the same site, he will also inaugurate Panchjanya. PM Modi will then attend the International Gita Mahotsav and participate in the Maha Aarti.

On 25 November, a special “Samagam’’ will be organised as part of the martyrdom day remembrance, where PM Modi will attend as the Chief Guest. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said the state government is continuously working to preserve and promote the traditions, teachings, and sacrifices of Sikh Gurus and other great personalities.

He added that the state had celebrated the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev with great respect, and is now honouring the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur.

Discussing the government’s efforts, Saini said Haryana is committed to raising awareness about the Gurus’ sacrifices and their extraordinary contribution to humanity so future generations can learn from this sacred heritage.

The Chief Minister also said that Guru Tegh Bahadur’s sacrifice for humanity, religion, and the nation is a timeless legacy that must be shared widely so that generations to come remain inspired by this profound history.
