PM Modi Sends Strong Message Amid Language Row, Asks 'Should I Speak in Marathi or Hindi?'
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Four eminent personalities of the country have been nominated to the Rajya Sabha. President Draupadi Murmu, using the powers granted under the Constitution, nominated four personalities to the Rajya Sabha, including senior advocate Ujjwal Nikam, renowned social worker of Kerala C. Sadanandan Master, former Foreign Secretary of India Harsh Vardhan Shringla and historian Meenakshi Jain. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated all these nominated members.
PM Modi had called Ujjwal Nikam
After being nominated for Rajya Sabha MP, Ujjwal Nikam while talking to the media said that he had received a call from PM Modi. During this conversation on the phone, PM Modi had asked Ujjwal Nikam to become a Rajya Sabha member. During this conversation, PM Modi gave a big message amid the Hindi-Marathi language controversy. After calling Ujjwal Nikam, PM Modi asked him- should I speak in Hindi or Marathi. Then PM Modi spoke to Nikam in Marathi. During this conversation, PM Modi tried to give this message amid the language controversy that every language should be respected. Regarding the conversation with PM Modi, Ujjwal Nikam told that he said that Madam President wants to see you in Rajya Sabha. She wants to entrust you with a responsibility. I immediately agreed.
Ujjwal Nikam further said that people were saddened by my defeat in the Lok Sabha. Nadda ji, Amit Shah ji and Fadnavis ji explained to me. They said that such things keep happening in life. They said that I will get a bigger responsibility in the future. My job is to take action against those who conspire against the country.
