Ravneet Singh Bittu accuses Rahul Gandhi of attempting physical attack in parliament

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu) : Union Minister of State Ravneet Singh Bittu has reacted sharply to remarks made by Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi in Parliament. He alleged that Rahul Gandhi was about to physically attack him.

Speaking to news agency IANS, Ravneet Singh Bittu said, "Even a street thug wouldn't do what Rahul Gandhi did today. When I didn't shake his hand, he was about to attack me. KC Venugopal and other Congress leaders caught Rahul Gandhi. If they hadn't, who knows what would have happened." He added, "If Rahul Gandhi had come to attack, my hands wouldn't have been tied." The Union Minister explained that after the debate, he went inside. But the question is, how could he use such foul language and then say he would come to me again?

Ravneet Singh Bittu said, "Rahul Gandhi is mistaken. The BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have honored me and seated me before Congress leaders. He (Rahul Gandhi) is pained by this. Seeing me in front of him hurts him every day. That pain was clearly visible today in Rahul Gandhi's words and body language."

Meanwhile, the Union Minister accused the Congress party of orchestrating the killings of Sikhs. He said, "These are the people whose supporters killed thousands of Sikhs by putting tires around their necks and setting them on fire. Then, Gurdwaras were destroyed. Parts of the Guru Granth Sahib in Darbar Sahib were shot. Therefore, they have always been enemies of Sikhs."

Ravneet Singh Bittu said, "Their party (Congress) always felt pain that my father and his grandfather were martyred. Wherever I went and raised slogans praising them, it hurt them. The Congress party has always killed Sikhs in Punjab. When Narasimha Rao became Prime Minister and the Gandhi regime ended, my grandfather (Sardar Beant Singh) became Chief Minister. If these people (the Gandhi family) had been there, he would not have become Chief Minister. They brought peace to Punjab. The fight to kill Sikhs and Hindus stopped. The Congress party also feels pain towards me for this."
