New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Congress Rajya Sabha MP Renuka Chowdhary arrived at the Parliament complex on Monday morning with a pet dog in her car. This sparked not only a debate about protocol but also a political storm with her remarks.

Responding to the criticism, Renuka Chowdhary said, "Those who are cutting are sitting in Parliament and running the government. Does anyone have a problem with them?" The BJP called her comment highly objectionable and said it was an insult to the members of Parliament.

Pet dog in car, questions about protocol

Renuka Chowdhary, who arrived to attend the winter session, had a small dog in her car. Although she did not let the dog out of the car and sent it back home, the scene was already captured on camera. This sparked a debate on social media and political circles about whether pets are allowed in the Parliament complex and whether this violates parliamentary decorum.

MP's explanation: "Found it on the way, feared an accident"

Renuka Chowdhary, responding to her criticism, said that she had spotted the injured dog on her way to Parliament and was worried it might be involved in an accident. So she put it in her car and brought it to the Parliament complex.

She questioned, "Is it wrong to save someone's life? Is there a protocol for this?" The MP claims she has previously adopted several Indian breed dogs from the streets.
