Srinagar (The Uttam Hindu) - Two army soldiers were martyred and two others were injured in an ongoing anti-terrorist operation in Akhal Devsar forest area of Kulgam. Both the martyred soldiers were from Punjab. The names of both are 26-year-old Sepoy Harminder Singh of village Badinpur in Fatehgarh Sahib and 28-year-old Lance Naik Pritpal Singh of village Manupur in Khanna.

Chinar Corps said on social media platform X, "Chinar Corps pays tribute to the supreme sacrifice of its brave soldiers who laid down their lives in the line of duty for the nation. Their courage and dedication will always inspire us. Indian Army expresses deepest condolences and stands in solidarity with the bereaved families." This news, which came just before Raksha Bandhan, has created an atmosphere of mourning in both the families. Pritpal Singh had been married for just 11 months. His wife was expecting a festive celebration at home on Rakhi. On the other hand, Harminder Singh's mother and sisters were waiting for his safe return.
