Ujjain (The Uttam Hindu): On the occasion of Varuthini Ekadashi, a special and divine decoration was performed at the famous Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain. Devotees gathered in large numbers from early morning to witness the sacred rituals and the grand Bhasma Aarti.

Devotees started lining up from 2 AM to attend the Bhasma Aarti, and after its completion, the temple परिसर echoed with chants of “Har Har Mahadev.” Since it was both Monday and Ekadashi, a special adornment of Baba Mahakal was carried out.

The temple doors were opened after seeking permission from Veerbhadra, followed by Panchamrit Abhishek. The priests then decorated the deity using bhang and applied a tilak of belpatra on the forehead. Baba Mahakal was adorned with garlands of cashew and rudraksha, along with peacock-shaped earrings. A silver symbol of damru and belpatra was also placed on the forehead, enhancing the divine appearance.

Bhasma was offered by the Mahanirvani Akhara, and after dressing the deity, the Maha Aarti was performed. A large number of devotees attended the rituals and experienced the spiritual atmosphere inside the temple.

It is noteworthy that Baba Mahakal is adorned daily in different divine forms, attracting devotees from across the country and abroad. Devotees can also arrange special adornment by paying ₹1100 through the temple office or via online booking on the official website.

According to beliefs, visiting Baba Mahakal brings positive changes in life within a few months, making it one of the most spiritually significant pilgrimage experiences.
