The Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India has issued guidelines to deal with seasonal health problems and boost immunity. The ministry has advised adopting simple and natural habits that prevent seasonal diseases and promote a healthy lifestyle.
According to the ministry, these simple measures are based on the principles of Ayurveda, yoga and naturopathy, which not only prevent diseases but also improve health. Experts say that these measures are simple, affordable and accessible to all. According to the ministry, immunity can be increased with some easy measures. For this, first of all, one should drink warm water regularly, which keeps the body hydrated and removes toxins. Apart from this, following a daily routine, such as timely meals, exercise and sleep, is important for health.
The ministry has advised to adopt Ritucharya (lifestyle according to seasons), which includes changes in diet and routine according to the season. The body can be strengthened by adopting a balanced diet (Aahar), active lifestyle (Vihaar) and deep sleep.
Not only this, breathing exercises like yoga and pranayama are extremely effective for relieving stress. These exercises provide mental peace and boost immunity. Apart from this, taking steam, applying sesame or coconut oil in the nose (nasya) and drinking hot herbal drinks like decoction made from basil, ginger helps in preventing seasonal diseases.
