Practice Katichakrasana every day to trim stubborn belly fat
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): In today's fast-paced life, people often become obese due to irregular eating habits and lack of physical activity. This makes the body vulnerable to a variety of diseases. The Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga states that adopting yoga asanas along with regular lifestyle changes is very effective in preventing physical problems. One such yoga posture is called 'Katichakrasana'.
This asana helps the body manage a variety of ailments, especially weight gain. This waist-twisting asana helps reduce belly fat, improve digestion, and burn excess calories. Practicing this asana for 5-10 minutes daily helps maintain flexibility and helps manage weight. However, along with practicing the asana daily, you must maintain a balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.
The Ministry of AYUSH has highlighted its importance. According to them, this is a waist-twisting asana that, when practiced regularly, helps relieve stiffness in the spine, neck, and shoulders. Additionally, it helps strengthen the back, reduce waist fat, and activate abdominal organs (such as the kidneys).
It's very easy to do. To do this, stand up straight. Inhale and bring both hands forward, palms facing each other. Now, exhale and slowly twist to the left from the waist. Place your right hand on your left shoulder. Try to bring your left hand from behind your back toward your right waist. Turn your neck to the left and look back. Hold this position for a few seconds and continue breathing normally.
Inhale and return to the front. Repeat this process on the right side. Yoga experts say that waking up early in the morning and engaging in yoga and light activity can not only help reduce obesity but also prevent many diseases. However, pregnant women, those with serious illnesses, or those undergoing surgery should avoid this practice.
