AAP attacks Hooda, calls him BJP’s puppet over ₹16.5 lakh rent waiver
Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): The Aam Aadmi Party has launched a sharp attack on senior Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda, alleging a covert understanding between the Congress and the BJP in Haryana politics. AAP national media in-charge Anurag Dhanda claimed that recent political developments and past Rajya Sabha elections indicate a pattern of cooperation between the two parties.
Dhanda alleged that despite having sufficient numbers in previous Rajya Sabha elections, Congress failed to secure expected victories, indirectly benefiting BJP-backed candidates. He further claimed that the waiver of ₹16.50 lakh penal rent on Hooda’s official residence by the government led by Nayab Singh Saini was a form of political reward for alleged cross-voting in favor of the BJP.
He accused Hooda of acting under pressure due to legal challenges and claimed that several Congress MLAs vote in line with BJP interests. According to Dhanda, this has weakened the opposition in the state and allowed the BJP to maintain political advantage. He also criticized the Congress for not actively raising public issues in Haryana.
The AAP leader urged voters to reconsider their support, stating that backing Congress would indirectly strengthen the BJP. He positioned the Aam Aadmi Party as a credible alternative, promising transparent governance and a focus on public welfare. Dhanda expressed confidence that people in Haryana will move away from what he described as alliance-driven politics and support a cleaner political approach.
