AAP Bets on Experience: Harmeet Singh Sandhu to Contest Tarn Taran By-Poll
Tarn Taran (The Uttam Hindu): CM Bhagwant Mann has announced former CPS Harmeet Singh Sandhu as the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate for the Tarn Taran Assembly by-election. He said, “Usually parties field candidates of their choice, but we have chosen the people’s choice.” Harmeet Sandhu has earlier been elected MLA from Tarn Taran three times.
In August, Harmeet Singh Sandhu was appointed as constituency in-charge. At the end of his address, CM Mann said, “I am giving the people of Tarn Taran new roads along with a new MLA. Take care of him and support him. Leave no stone unturned in ensuring his victory. Whenever you call me, I will come for campaigning.”
Notably, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has already announced Sukhwinder Kaur Randhawa, while BJP has named Harjit Singh Sandhu as its candidate. CM Mann, patting Harmeet Sandhu’s back, said, “Now be strong. Just like in Dera Baba Nanak, Gidderbaha, Chabbewal, Jalandhar, and Ludhiana, ensure Harmeet Singh Sandhu’s win in the by-election so that AAP can set a new record.”
