CM Continues Mission Gyaan (Knowledge), Dedicates Another New Library To Punjabis
Dhuri (Sangrur)(The Uttam Hindu): Continuing mission Gyaan (knowledge) to inculcate reading habits amongst the youth, the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Sunday dedicated the newly constructed public library to the residents of the city.
The Chief Minister said that he was delighted to be here today to inaugurate this new public library constructed at a cost of Rs 1.59 crore. He said that this two-storey building has a covered area of 3,710 square feet and is equipped with high-end facilities like Wi-Fi, solar power digital analogs and others. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this library has world-class books on contemporary literature and curriculum books, providing a rich learning experience.
The Chief Minister said that such libraries are a true repository of knowledge and literature adding that it is a matter of great pride and satisfaction for all of us that this state of the art libraries houses precious books on varied subjects, which attracts the book lovers. He said that this initiative is a major step toward promoting education, literacy, and community development in rural areas. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that public libraries in rural regions are proving to be beacons of knowledge, and we aim to ensure that every citizen of Punjab can benefit from them.
The Chief Minister said that libraries play a vital role in fostering reading habits among youth and contributing to their academic and personal development. He said that these libraries function as community hubs, encouraging a conducive environment for learning, dialogue and cultural exchange. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that these libraries in primarily rural areas bridge the gap in access to educational resources and ensure that everyone has the opportunity to learn and grow.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is already implementing a plan to establish modern libraries in every assembly constituency adding that these libraries are digitally connected and equipped with high-speed internet. He said that trained librarians are available to support youth in their academic and career pursuits. Bhagwant Singh Mann also made a fervent appeal to students, parents, and community members to actively use the library for learning, research, and self-development.
