Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s health has shown significant improvement and all his test reports have come out normal. Hoshiarpur MP Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal, who met him at the hospital said that the CM is recovering well and will be discharged soon. Despite being admitted, Mann continued working for the people even attending cabinet meetings through video conferencing.

Dr. Chabbewal highlighted that the Punjab government has taken two major decisions – farmers can now sell sand from their fields and those whose crops were damaged by floods will receive ₹20,000 per acre as compensation. He added that it would have been better if Prime Minister Narendra Modi had avoided making the announcement of ₹1600 crore flood relief for Punjab, suggesting the timing was not appropriate.

Mann was hospitalized on 5 September after his health deteriorated during continuous visits to flood-hit areas. Even from the hospital, he remained engaged with officials, monitored flood relief measures and interacted with volunteers who prepared boats to rescue stranded families. Several leaders including Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, Haryana CM Nayab Saini and Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria visited him while his mother was the first to meet him during his treatment.
