Chief Secretary K.A.P. Sinha reviewed preparations for the Martyrdom Centenary celebrations

Chandigarh/Sri Anandpur Sahib (The Uttam Hindu): Punjab Chief Secretary K.A.P. Sinha today reviewed preparations for the Martyrdom Centenary celebrations of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib. On this occasion, he directed the concerned officials to ensure all necessary arrangements are completed on time for the convenience of the devotees.
He informed that four Nagar Kirtans will arrive at Sri Anandpur Sahib on November 22nd, while the Sri Akhand Path Sahib will commence at Guru Ka Chawani Budha Dal on November 23rd. An All Religion Conference will also be held during this period in the presence of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.
The Chief Secretary informed that from November 23rd to 29th, a special presentation of Guru Sahib's life, teachings and unique martyrdom will be given through 500 drones. Additionally, a light and sound show will be held at Charan Ganga Stadium on November 20th, while the Bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib will be offered on November 25th.
He said that the Punjab government will also organize guided tours and heritage tours for devotees to educate the Sangat about the historical sites associated with Guru Sahib. The Chief Minister, Cabinet Ministers and MLAs will participate in the Sis Bhet Nagar Kirtan from Gurdwara Bibangarh Sahib to Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib.
Additionally, a special session of the Assembly will be held at the Bhai Jaita Ji Memorial on November 24th. The Chief Secretary also reviewed the arrangements for the tent city being prepared for the pilgrims and directed that the repair and renovation work on all roads leading to the Gurudwara be completed on time.
He stated that the Punjab Government is making every effort to ensure that every pilgrim enjoys a historic and memorable martyrdom celebration, ensuring convenience, security and a spiritual experience. The Chief Secretary directed officials to work with a spirit of service and provide every possible facility to the pilgrims.
During a special meeting held today in the Virasat-e-Khalsa meeting hall, Tourism Secretary Abhinav Trikha briefed the Chief Secretary on the Punjab Government's preparations. Deputy Commissioner Varjit Walia presented information on the arrangements being made in Sri Anandpur Sahib over the past three months.
Presidents present on the occasion included Special Chief Secretary (Sports) Sarabjit Singh, Additional Chief Secretary (Local Bodies) Tejveer Singh and Additional Chief Secretary (Parliamentary Affairs) D.K. Tiwari, Secretary (Tourism) Abhinav Trikha, Secretary Public Relations and Mandi Board Ramveer, Secretary (General Administration) Gauri Prasher Joshi, DGP (Law and Order) Arpit Shukla, Deputy Commissioner Varjeet Walia, SSP Gulneet Singh Khurana and several other senior officers were present.
