CM Mann’s health suddenly deteriorates, airlifted to Fortis Hospital; latest updates here
Mohali (The Uttam Hindu): Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's health has suddenly deteriorated. During his visit to Sangrur, his blood pressure suddenly increased, after which he was checked locally. When his condition showed no significant improvement, he was rushed to Fortis Hospital in Mohali by helicopter. Sources report that doctors have admitted him to the hospital and he is undergoing intensive evaluation. However, no official medical bulletin has been issued by the hospital management, nor has the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) provided any clear information regarding his condition. The administration is on full alert regarding the Chief Minister's health, and the state's Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav and Chief Secretary are also present at the hospital.
According to reports, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann arrived this afternoon to offer prayers at the Shri Rankeshwar Mahadev Shiva Temple in Dhuri, Sangrur. Party supremo Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia were also present. The three top leaders participated in the ritualistic worship and havan yagya at the temple. It is being reported that Chief Minister Mann's health began to deteriorate after this event. Due to his deteriorating health, the Chief Minister's planned visit to Fazilka after Sangrur has been canceled with immediate effect. Meanwhile, Bhagwant Mann is scheduled to hold an important rally in Moga tomorrow, February 16th, but his participation in the rally is now in doubt.
It's worth noting that this isn't the first time Chief Minister Mann has faced health problems. Previously, during the Punjab floods, his health suddenly deteriorated while he was visiting border areas. Initially, doctors treated him for a day at the CM residence. This disrupted his visit to Punjab, including Kapurthala, with Arvind Kejriwal on September 5, 2025. When his health didn't improve, Kejriwal went straight to the CM residence, and later, due to a low heart rate, extreme fatigue, and other health problems, CM Mann had to be hospitalized. He spent approximately four days in the hospital. However, he didn't stop working, holding cabinet meetings from the hospital and reviewing flood relief efforts via video conferencing.
