Efforts continue till the Center to end unemployment in the area which is suffering from 40 years of neglect: Dr. Subhash Sharma
Nangal(The Uttam Hindu): In his address during the foundation day program of Bharatiya Janata Party, Punjab BJP Deputy President Dr. Subhash Sharma made the 40 years of neglect, increasing unemployment and pending problems of Sri Anandpur Sahib assembly constituency and Nangal as the main issues and said that his fight for their solution is continuing and these issues are being raised strongly at the central level.
He said that there are immense employment opportunities in National Fertilizers Limited and Bhakra Beas Management Board, a Government of India undertaking, which he is continuously making efforts to realize. Recently, he raised this issue prominently by meeting Union Chemicals Minister JP Nadda and in future also this issue will be taken to the Center by taking the public representatives of Himachal along with him.
On the long pending lease issue of Nangal, Dr. Subhash Sharma said that its solution had almost reached the final stage, but the Punjab government created hurdles in it by claiming the BBMB land.
He urged State Executive President Ashwini Sharma that nothing is going to happen from the Punjab Government in Sri Anandpur Sahib assembly constituency, hence she should strongly raise the issue of expansion of these undertakings with the Central Government, so that unemployment in the area can be eliminated. He alleged that during the Nangal visit, the Chief Minister neither made any major announcement for the area nor gave clarity on this important issue.
He also said that the Punjab government has not been able to take any concrete steps to prevent losses to farmers during the rainy season in Swan River.
Dr. Subhash Sharma said that new sources of employment can be developed by properly utilizing the vacant land of NFL and BBMB in Nangal and efforts are also going on for the expansion of NFL.
