Trump warns of end of civilization tonight, Iran vows unforgettable response
Donald Trump warns of possible end of civilization amid Iran tensions, while Tehran vows a strong response as Middle East conflict escalates.
Washington (The Uttam Hindu): Amid escalating tensions, Donald Trump has once again issued a strong warning against Iran, claiming that “an entire civilization could end tonight.” The statement, shared on his platform Truth Social, has intensified concerns over a potential major escalation in the Middle East.
In his post, Trump wrote that “tonight, an entire civilization could be wiped out, never to return,” while adding that he does not wish for such an outcome but suggested it remains a possibility. He further indicated that a “complete regime change” could be on the horizon, expressing hope that more “rational and less radical” leadership might take charge.
Speaking earlier at the White House, Trump reiterated his warning that if Iran does not agree to terms set by the US, military action could be taken at any time—even as early as Tuesday night. He also repeated threats regarding targeting Iran’s energy infrastructure and key bridges, and emphasized the importance of reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
Responding sharply, Iran—through its embassy in South Africa—stated that any aggression would be met with a response rooted in its “ancient civilization,” warning that the US and its allies would face consequences they would “never forget.”
Meanwhile, Trump acknowledged that negotiations with Iranian leadership are ongoing but uncertain, with no clear indication of a breakthrough. Iran has reportedly rejected a temporary ceasefire proposal.
In parallel developments, Israel has also escalated its stance, warning of possible strikes on Iran’s railway infrastructure. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) advised civilians to avoid rail services, following which multiple locations were reportedly targeted. According to Mehr News Agency and Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), attacks were carried out on key sites including a bridge on the Tabriz–Zanjan highway, the Yahya Abad railway bridge, and Kharg Island.
The situation remains highly volatile, with fears of a wider conflict growing as both sides exchange strong warnings and military signals.
