Girls Light Up Diwali with Vibrant Gidda and Bhangra Performances at Romesh Chandra Memorial Trust
Jalandhar (Uttam Hindu News): The Romesh Chandra Memorial Trust celebrated Diwali with great enthusiasm at the free training center located at the Arya Samaj Mandir, Pakka Bagh. RCMT President Arvind Chopra, Vice President Seema Chopra and S.S. Chauhan, President of the Girls Education Promotion Organization, were also present.
In keeping with Romesh Chandra's secular views, the program also included melodious hymns, shabads and Muslim prayers. Following traditional gidda and energetic bhangra, each student, the guests and the teachers lit colorful lamps. Diwali gifts were then distributed to the students and teachers.
On this occasion, Arvind Chopra praised the students' performance and advised them to become self-reliant and earn their own living after completing their training. Arvind Chopra explained that he founded the Romesh Chandra Memorial Trust in memory of his father, a martyred journalist, Romesh Chandra, who dedicated his life to philanthropic and humanitarian work.
Vice President Seema Chopra, while wishing the students a Happy Diwali, said that high level fashion designing, bag making, flower making and make-up artist courses are conducted in the RCMT free training centre.
The certificate comes from the prestigious, accredited Mehr Chand Polytechnic. Seema Chopra urged the students to make RCMT's women-empowerment efforts a complete success. The program was organized by qualified teachers Sanjana Ma'am and Vandana Ma'am.
