Tarn Taran (The Uttam Hindu): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate from Tarn Taran constituency, Harmeet Singh Sandhu, has strongly reacted to the incident in which Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring mocked the hair (joore) of Sikh children. Sandhu said that Warring’s disgraceful act is intolerable for the entire Sikh community and has deeply hurt the religious sentiments of Sikhs. He said that the Sikh sangat of Tarn Taran will never forgive Congress for this act of sacrilege.

Sandhu said that kesh (unshorn hair) and joora are sacred kakars bestowed by the Guru Sahiban, and they represent the true identity of Sikhs. Raja Warring’s public mockery of the sacred symbols of Sikh children is proof of Congress’s long-standing anti-Sikh mentality. He said that Congress leaders often make disrespectful statements about Sikh Gurus and religious figures, continuously hurting the sentiments of the Sikh community, something that can no longer be tolerated.

AAP candidate Sandhu appealed to Sri Akal Takht Sahib to take strict notice of this serious matter. Sandhu said that until Raja Warring presents himself before Sri Akal Takht Sahib and seeks forgiveness for his shameful act, he should be socially boycotted. He expressed confidence that the wise voters of Tarn Taran will give a strong reply to Congress’s anti-Sikh mindset in the upcoming by-election.
