CM Mann launches 508 high-tech vehicles, promises police response within 6 minutes of dialing 112

The move is expected to reduce police response time to emergencies from 12-13 minutes to 6-7 minutes, with the goal of reaching the scene within six minutes of dialing 112

Sangrur (The Uttam Hindu): A major step has been taken towards making law and order in Punjab even more efficient and hi-tech. Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann dedicated 508 state-of-the-art 'Quick Response Vehicles' to the Punjab Police in a grand and impressive ceremony held at Ladda Kothi in Dhuri, Sangrur district. The Chief Minister himself flagged off the fleet of these hi-tech vehicles. On this special occasion, the state's Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav, along with several senior police and administrative officers, were present. The Chief Minister clarified that the real progress of any state is possible only when its police is technically strong and fully alert.

Dial 112 and help will arrive in half the time

The addition of these 508 Quick Response Vehicles to the Punjab Police fleet will provide the greatest and most direct benefit to the people of the state. Now, any information received on the emergency number 112 helpline will be resolved much more quickly than before. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann stated that previously, dialing 112 would take the police 12 to 13 minutes to reach the scene or victim. However, now, with the help of these high-speed and modern vehicles, the police will reach the spot within just 6 to 7 minutes. This government initiative will prove to be a milestone in further strengthening law and order in the state.

327 crore rupees spent to make the police hi-tech

Addressing the grand ceremony, DGP Gaurav Yadav specifically thanked the Chief Minister for strengthening the police department. Sharing a key statistic, he stated that over the past four years, the state government has spent a substantial sum of approximately ₹327 crore to upgrade the Punjab Police's vehicle fleet. The arrival of these new vehicles, equipped with modern technology and state-of-the-art communication systems, will significantly enhance police efficiency. It will now be much easier for the police to take swift and accurate action against criminals in any emergency.

We are determined to make Punjab Police the best in the country

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, while encouraging the police officers and personnel present at the ceremony, said that upon the formation of the Aam Aadmi Party government, he had made an important promise to the people of Punjab that the Punjab Police would be included among the best and most modern police forces in the country. Today, towards fulfilling this pledge, the police are being continuously provided with the best resources, modern technical support, and high-level training. The Chief Minister expressed strong confidence that the introduction of these new vehicles on the roads will not only curb criminals and crime, but will also strengthen the sense of security and justice in the minds of ordinary citizens.
