Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann held a major press conference the day after a crucial video conference with Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the latest situation in Western countries and global tensions. Putting an end to rumors of fuel shortages and a lockdown in the state, Chief Minister Mann offered significant assurances to the people of the state.

Big relief given on stock of petrol, diesel and LPG

The Chief Minister reassured the public that there was no need to panic or wait in long lines at petrol pumps. Sharing fuel statistics in the state, he stated that Punjab currently has 12 days of petrol, 14 days of diesel, and 6 days of LPG stock. He strongly appealed to the public to ignore rumors, as there will be no nationwide lockdown and life will continue as normal.

A special demand was made to the Centre that there should be no shortage of fuel during the wheat season

In view of the crucial wheat harvesting season (wadhi) in Punjab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has made a special demand to the central government. He stated that there should be no reduction in oil supplies to Punjab during this crucial harvesting period, so that farmers do not face any difficulties in carrying out their work. Regarding gas cylinders, he also urged that a system of booking new cylinders after a 25-day interval should be implemented in villages. CM Mann also clarified that even in this time of global crisis, Punjab stands fully prepared to feed and provide food to the entire nation.
