Deadly Accident on Amritsar-Jalandhar Highway: Two Youths Burnt to Death

Amritsar(The Uttam Hindu):  A tragic incident occurred on the Amritsar-Jalandhar highway in Jandiala when a petrol tanker lost control and collided with a car, resulting in a fire that claimed the lives of two youths. The tanker, carrying petrol from Jalandhar, experienced a tyre burst, causing it to veer out of control and collide with the car coming from the opposite direction. The impact caused the car to hit the railing and catch fire, severely burning the two occupants.

Eyewitnesses reported that the tanker driver fled the scene immediately after the accident. Authorities have confirmed that the incident occurred due to the tyre burst, and efforts are being made to recover the bodies and investigate the incident further.

The police have stated that the fire has been brought under control, and a crane has been called to the scene to recover the damaged vehicles. Fortunately, the petrol tanker did not explode, which could have led to an even more catastrophic outcome.

The police are currently investigating the incident and are working to identify the victims. The driver of the tanker has not been apprehended yet, and authorities are reviewing the circumstances surrounding the accident.
