Sensational crime in Punjab: AAP sarpanch shot dead at wedding function, cousin critically injured

Tarn Taran (The Uttam Hindu): A shocking incident has rocked Punjab’s Tarn Taran district, where Aam Aadmi Party sarpanch Harpinder Singh was brutally shot dead during a wedding ceremony. The incident took place in village Farm of the Fatehabad area, creating panic and fear across the region.

Deadly attack carried out during wedding ceremony

According to available information, sarpanch Harpinder Singh had arrived at a wedding function in village Farm. During the event, three unidentified assailants suddenly reached the venue and opened indiscriminate fire, targeting the sarpanch and his cousin. The sudden gunfire led to chaos at the ceremony, with guests running in all directions to save their lives.

Sarpanch died on the spot, cousin seriously injured

Harpinder Singh sustained multiple bullet injuries and succumbed on the spot. His cousin was also hit by bullets and has been reported to be in critical condition. Taking advantage of the panic and confusion, all three attackers managed to flee from the scene immediately after carrying out the crime.

Police scanning CCTV footage, manhunt launched

On receiving information, Punjab Police rushed to the spot. The police took the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem examination. An investigation is currently underway to ascertain the motive behind the murder. CCTV footage from nearby areas is being closely examined to identify the attackers, and multiple police teams have been formed to track down and arrest the absconding accused.
