Hoshiarpur (The Uttam Hindu): On the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, former MP Avinash Rai Khanna highlighted his life and ideology, stating that Pandit Ji was born on September 25, 1916 in Nagla Chandrabhan village of Mathura district. Through his association with the RSS, he entered politics and went on to become the General Secretary of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh founded under the leadership of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee.

Khanna said that Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya was a strong advocate of clean politics and principled leadership. This was the reason why Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee once remarked, “If I had two Deendayals, I could change the face of Indian politics.”

He further added that the unity and progress of the nation were Pandit Upadhyaya’s greatest dreams. Every leader and worker of the BJP is following in his footsteps to ensure clean politics and to contribute towards the unity and development of the country.

Khanna also mentioned that the Modi government is consistently working on the principles of Antyodaya (upliftment of the last person) and Integral Humanism laid down by Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya.
