Wipro-GE Delegation Inspects Yamuna Authority's Medical Devices Park

Gautam Buddha Nagar(The Uttam Hindu): A high-level delegation from Wipro-GE Healthcare inspected the Medical Devices Park being developed by the Yamuna Industrial Development Authority in Sector 28 on January 21, 2027. The inspection took place at the invitation of the Authority's Chief Executive Officer, Rakesh Kumar Singh.

The Medical Devices Park is being developed on approximately 350 acres of land within the Authority's jurisdiction. The park aims to promote the manufacturing and export of medical devices and provide state-of-the-art industrial and shared scientific facilities.


During the inspection, the delegation thoroughly reviewed the infrastructure under construction in the park and the shared scientific facilities being established there. The delegation appreciated the quality of the facilities being developed and the integrated collaborative system.

Authority officials briefed the delegation on the park's strategic location. They highlighted its proximity to the international airport, its connectivity to the proposed regional rapid transit system, the proposed rail link near the airport, and its direct access to the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor. This connectivity will provide significant advantages for the transportation and export of medical devices.

Shailendra Kumar Bhatia, Additional Chief Executive Officer of the Authority, gave a presentation on the overall industrial ecosystem of the Medical Devices Park. This included information on export promotion and licensing facilities, as well as details about the nearby Data Center Park, Apparel Park, Semiconductor Park, and Electronic Manufacturing Cluster.


Officials stated that the construction of the Medical Devices Park is approximately 80 percent complete and is targeted for completion by the end of 2026. To date, investment proposals exceeding ₹1200 crore have been received, and the land allocation schemes have received an encouraging response from the industry.

During the inspection, the high-level team from Wipro-GE Healthcare expressed interest in establishing its unit on 10 acres of land. The Chief Executive Officer informed them about the location of the proposed industrial plot and welcomed their investment.

The Yamuna Industrial Development Authority reiterated its commitment to developing the Medical Devices Park into a globally competitive manufacturing and export hub. Here, special emphasis is being placed on world-class infrastructure, streamlined industrial processes, and integrated support facilities.
