Bengaluru (The Uttam Hindu): The 11th match of the 19th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2026) will be played on Sunday between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. RCB fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar has a golden opportunity to make history in this match.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar will reach 200 IPL wickets with a single wicket against CSK. He will become the first fast bowler and second overall to achieve this feat in the world's most prestigious league.

Bhuvneshwar took one wicket for 31 runs in four overs against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the first match of the season. Yuzvendra Chahal holds the record for taking the most wickets in IPL history. Chahal, who will be part of Punjab Kings in IPL 2026, has so far taken 224 wickets in 174 innings of 176 matches. Bhuvneshwar is the second most successful bowler in IPL history. This right-arm fast bowler has taken 199 wickets in 191 innings of 191 matches played so far.

KKR spinner Sunil Narine is in third place. Narine has taken 193 wickets in 189 innings of 191 matches. Narine also has a chance to reach 200 wickets this season. Piyush Chawla took 192 wickets in 191 innings of 192 matches between 2008 and 2024. He is the league's fourth most successful bowler. Piyush is no longer a part of the IPL.

R Ashwin is the IPL's fifth-most successful bowler. The off-spinner, who has retired from the IPL and international cricket, took 187 wickets in 221 matches between 2009 and 2025.

Mumbai Indians fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is the league's sixth-most successful bowler. Bumrah has taken 183 wickets in 147 matches.
