New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The Indian cricket team’s loss to Australia in Melbourne on Friday not only leveled the series but also brought an end to all-rounder Shivam Dube’s unbeaten record in T20 internationals.

Until this match, India had never lost a T20 game featuring Shivam Dube. Between 2019 and 2025, Dube played 37 T20 matches for India, all of which ended in India’s favor. During this period, India also lifted the T20 World Cup 2024 and the Asia Cup 2025 titles. Dube was often regarded as the team’s “lucky charm”, with his presence seen as a guarantee of victory.

However, the record finally broke in Melbourne, where India fell to Australia in the second T20 of the series. With this loss, Jasprit Bumrah’s winning streak also came to an end — he had remained unbeaten in 24 consecutive T20 matches since 2021.

Out of Dube’s 37 matches, India won 34, while 3 had no result. Similarly, Bumrah’s record includes 23 wins and 1 match with no result.

In the Melbourne T20, Dube scored 4 runs off 2 balls, while Bumrah took 2 wickets for 26 runs in his 4 overs. Batting first after losing the toss, India were bowled out for 125 runs in 18.4 overs. Abhishek Sharma top-scored with 68 runs, while Harshit Rana added 35 runs.

Australia chased down the target in 13.2 overs, scoring 126/6 to win by 4 wickets. Captain Mitchell Marsh led the chase with 46 runs off 26 balls, while Josh Hazlewood, who claimed 3 wickets for 13 runs in 4 overs, was named Player of the Match.
