IPL dominance: 3 Teams share 13 titles - Check the winners
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A total of 18 finals have been played in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). During this period, only three teams have won 13 trophies. Let's take a look at all the IPL's winning teams so far.
Chennai Super Kings (5 titles): This team reached the final in the very first season of the IPL, but lost to the Rajasthan Royals. Subsequently, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) won the title in 2010 and 2011.
In 2012, 2013, and 2015, CSK reached the finals again, but fell short. In 2018, they won their third title by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad, but lost the final to Mumbai Indians in 2019. CSK subsequently won the title in 2021 and 2023.
Mumbai Indians (5 titles): This team reached the IPL final in 2010, but lost there. Finally, in 2013, this team's title drought ended. Mumbai Indians (MI) won the title for the first time by defeating Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Then, in 2015, this team once again defeated CSK to win their second trophy. MI won the title in 2017 by defeating Rising Pune Supergiants and then won the trophy again for two consecutive seasons in 2019 and 2020.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (1 title): RCB reached the final of the IPL 2009, but lost to the Deccan Chargers. Then, in 2011, they were defeated by the Chennai Super Kings in the final. In 2016, RCB reached the final again, but were defeated by the Sunrisers Hyderabad. In 2025, RCB won their first title by defeating the Punjab Kings.
