New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The excitement of the 11th season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is set to begin on March 26th, but even before the start of the tournament, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has suffered a major blow. Zimbabwe's star fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani has rejected his PSL contract and decided to play in the world's richest cricket league, the IPL. Muzarabani's sudden move has caused great consternation in the Pakistani cricket community, and the PCB is now preparing to take strict action against the player and ban him.

Leaving Islamabad United, he joined hands with KKR

Muzarabani was signed by PSL franchise and three-time champions Islamabad United as a replacement for Shamar Joseph. However, Muzarabani's explosive performance in the recent T20 World Cup 2026 changed the situation completely. He took 13 wickets in just six matches, including a lethal four-wicket haul against a strong Australian team. This impressive form prompted Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to sign him as a replacement for Bangladesh's Mustafizur Rahman, who was released by KKR in January.

Pakistani board is upset, will be banned for one year!

Muzarabani withdrew from the PSL after choosing the IPL, which has deeply infuriated the PCB. According to Pakistani media reports, the PCB is planning to take strict legal action against the fast bowler. It is believed that Muzarabani could be banned from playing in the PSL for a year. This is the second consecutive year that the PSL has faced such embarrassment worldwide. Last season, Corbin Bosch also left the PSL to join the Mumbai Indians, after which he was banned for a season by the PSL.

Blessing Muzarabani is a big name in T20 cricket

Blessing Muzarabani, one of Zimbabwe's most successful and lethal bowlers, has extensive experience in the T20 format. He has played 89 T20 Internationals so far, dismissing 106 batsmen. Interestingly, he will be a part of the IPL for the second consecutive season. Last season, Muzarabani was part of the defending champions Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) squad, but he didn't get a chance to make his debut. It will be interesting to see whether KKR will give him a chance in the playing eleven.
