Rohit Sharma Loses 10 KG Ahead of Australia Tour, Silences Critics
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Ahead of the crucial Australia tour next month, Indian ODI captain Rohit Sharma is all set to return in a completely new and fit avatar. After being away from international cricket for nearly seven months following the Champions Trophy 2025, the ‘Hitman’ has worked extensively on his fitness, as revealed by his close friend and former India batting coach Abhishek Nayar.
Abhishek Nayar shared a photo of Rohit Sharma during a training session in Mumbai on his Instagram story, revealing the update. He captioned the picture, “After 10,000 grams, we are still going strong.” This directly points to Rohit Sharma losing 10 kilograms. This new look is seen as a response to critics who considered his age and fitness as major concerns for the 2027 ODI World Cup.
Rohit Sharma last played on 9 March this year in the ICC Champions Trophy final against New Zealand in Dubai, leading India to victory. He is expected to make his international comeback starting 19 October in the three-match ODI series against Australia.
Having retired from T20 and Test cricket, Rohit is now entirely focused on the ODI format. He recently cleared his pre-season fitness test at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. Fans are eagerly awaiting to see the leaner and fitter ‘Hitman’ dominate the field against Australia.
