New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Rising Indian cricket talent Vaibhav Suryavanshi has taken a major career decision by opting out of the Class 10 board examinations this year. The young cricketer, who recently played a match-winning role in India’s Under-19 World Cup triumph, has decided to focus entirely on preparations for the upcoming Indian Premier League season.

The Class 10 examinations conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education are scheduled between 17 February and 11 March. However, Vaibhav will not appear for the exams as he is currently engaged in intensive cricket training. According to reports, he may also participate in the DY Patil T20 Tournament starting from 23 February, which is expected to serve as a key preparatory platform ahead of the IPL.

Vaibhav is considered an important batting prospect for Rajasthan Royals in the upcoming season beginning on 26 March. At present, he is training at the franchise’s pre-season camp, where he is working on improving his batting skills and overall match readiness.

Confirming the decision, Vaibhav’s coach Manish Ojha stated that the player is fully committed to IPL preparations and is already part of the Rajasthan Royals camp. Vaibhav’s father, Sanjeev Suryavanshi, also confirmed that his son will not appear for the board exams this year but plans to take them next year.

Interestingly, all formal exam arrangements had already been completed. The school administration confirmed that Vaibhav’s examination form was submitted on time, his admit card was issued, and an examination centre had been allotted. Despite this, the family and the player jointly decided to prioritise cricket at this crucial stage of his professional journey.
